Plot twist: I’m changing the plan

Okay. Plot twist.

I’m not reviving the We’re the Moyes blog the way I originally thought I was going to.

After sitting with this for a while (and yes, after a tarot reading… stay with me), I realized I was trying to cram far too many things into one space. Writing life, creative chaos, health stuff, projects, travel, memory keeping, all of it. Instead of feeling expansive, it just felt overwhelming.

So here’s the actual plan going forward, stated very plainly.

This blog is for our adventures. Trips. Travel. Memory keeping. The stories that happen along the way. That’s it.

If it’s not an adventure, it doesn’t live here.

What that means (and what it doesn’t)

Going forward, We’re the Moyes exists solely as a place to document our adventures, both big and small. Travel posts, trips, experiences, memory keeping, and the occasional product recommendation that genuinely makes sense in the context of those adventures.

That’s the lane, and I’m staying in it. Everything else I create or share lives somewhere else.

Writing life updates, creative process thoughts, health updates, project chatter, behind-the-scenes chaos, and whatever random hyperfixation currently has my brain in a chokehold will all be shared on my Facebook profile and sometimes TikTok instead.

This blog is not the hub for that content anymore, and that decision is intentional.

A quick note before I explain why

I did a tarot reading for myself while sorting through all of this. I know tarot makes some people uncomfortable, so if that’s you, feel free to scroll past this part with zero hard feelings.

I used the Modern Witch Tarot deck, which I do genuinely recommend. That it why it is hyperlinked with an Amazon Associates affiliate link. As always, transparency matters to me.

All of the cards came out upright. For anyone curious, this is what showed up:

The message couldn’t have been clearer. I’m doing too much. I need fewer lanes. I need clearer focus. Everything I do needs to support my writing and long-term stability.

Why this change matters

Streamlining this blog allows it to be something I enjoy again instead of something that feels like another obligation. Adventures are easy to document. They’re meaningful to look back on. They deserve a home that isn’t cluttered with everything else.

By moving all non-adventure content to Facebook and TikTok, I’m giving myself permission to show up there more freely and more often without worrying about whether it “belongs” on the blog.

This separation makes the work sustainable, and sustainability matters more to me than doing everything everywhere.
