Welcome back! Apparently, I blinked and several years passed. (Surprise! Not…)
Hi.
I didn’t disappear on purpose. I just looked up one day and realized I’d been busy publishing books, raising a kid who is now fully in school (hello third grade), and doing that fun adult thing where time moves at an alarming speed. So yes, it has been literal years since I last posted here. Sue me.
If you’re new, welcome. If you’ve been around long enough to remember this blog from its earlier life, you’re allowed to side-eye me a little. Life got loud, then complicated, then very full, and this space quietly slid to the back burner, but I’ve missed it, and I’m ready to bring it back in a way that actually fits who I am now.
What this space is now
This blog is going to be a place where I share our adventures, both big and small. Some of them will be things like a random Atlanta Braves game, or seeing Bert Kreischer live on a Sunday night, or a trip we’ve been looking forward to for months. Some of them will be quieter. Some will be messy. All of them will be real.
I’m not interested in turning this into a polished lifestyle brand or pretending everything we do is aspirational. This is more of a “come sit down, let me tell you what’s been going on” kind of place. Stories, reflections, and the occasional tangent included.
Yes, I will link my other projects.
I do a lot of things. I write books. I podcast. I make videos. I build creative projects that sometimes take over my entire brain for weeks at a time. That means this blog is going to overlap with the rest of my life and work, and I’m not going to pretend otherwise.
I will unapologetically link to my books, my podcast, my YouTube channel, and things I’m working on when they connect to what I’m writing about here. This isn’t a bait-and-switch situation. It’s just me sharing my life, and my creative work is part of that life.
About affiliate links and transparency
Every now and then, I’ll include Amazon Associates links when it makes sense. Not constantly, not aggressively, and not in a way that hijacks the story. If I link something, it’s because we used it, liked it, or found it genuinely helpful.
You’re never obligated to click those links. They simply help offset the cost of running this site and doing the things I’m already talking about anyway.
A quick note about privilege
I also want to say this out loud, because ignoring it would feel disingenuous. Some of the experiences I get to have, especially when it comes to travel, happen in part because I got lucky in the who-my-parents-are category. I’m not blind to that, and I’m not pretending everything I do is the result of hustle alone.
I’m not trying to brag or flex. I’m just sharing our life as it actually is. If that resonates with you, I’m glad. If it doesn’t, that’s okay, too. But if reading about it makes you angry enough that you want to be rude about it, this might not be the blog for you, and that’s fine.
So here we are
I don’t have a posting schedule to promise you. I don’t have a content calendar taped to my wall. What I do have is a desire to tell stories again and a space that finally feels ready to hold them.
There will be posts about little adventures and big ones, creative work and behind-the-scenes chaos, and life as it’s actually happening instead of a highlight reel after the fact.
If you’re glad I’m back, I’m glad you’re here. If you’re new, welcome to the mess. And if any of this isn’t your thing, no hard feelings at all.
Let’s do this again.
