I’m still trying to figure out exactly what I want this blog to be and what I want to share here. This month is a month where we Americans, as a culture, reflect on what we’re grateful for.

Today, I find myself grateful for the things in my life that spark joy. More specifically, today I find myself reflecting on the sounds of happiness in my life.

Do you ever just have sounds that make you glow with happiness? Certain sounds that just light you up from the inside out? I know I do.

  • I love the sound of my husband, Lake, singing along with the radio.
  • I love the sound of our four-year-old laughing or telling us about what he learned at preschool or reciting facts he’s memorized from YouTube videos.
  • I adore the sound of my dad’s whistling when he’s in a great mood.
  • I love the sound of my mom and Aunt Becky teasing each other and laughing over Sunday dinner.
  • I love hearing River playing with his cousins and learning how to share (which is sometimes a difficult concept for those of us who are only children).
  • I love hearing the theme music for the CW’s Nancy Drew. It’s the best show on TV, hands down, and I love having a standing date with Lake to watch it every week when we get home from Friday night Waitr deliveries.
  • I love hearing a messenger notification and realizing the message is from one of my favorite people, whether it’s my bestie or one of my amazing fans.
  • I still love all my emo jams from high school.
  • I love the sound of surf crashing on the beach.

What are YOUR sounds of happiness? Let me know in the comments!
