What We’re Reading: Takedown Twenty by Janet Evanovich on Audible

Lake and I have started a really fun tradition of listening to Audible audiobooks together while we do our food delivery job. I honestly can’t believe I haven’t taken the time to talk about this before now, and to say that we’ve got a lot of catching up to do as far as our reviews go is an understatement. Today, I want to start with talking to you about one of our most recent listens: Takedown Twenty by Janet Evanovich.

Once again, Janet Evanovich delivers a spectacular read and a damn good time all wrapped up in the fun, familiar, fantastically funny vibe that is so uniquely Stephanie Plum.

Our Thoughts On Takedown Twenty by Janet Evanovich on Audible

We try hard to keep our reviews spoiler-free, though I could do some seriously detailed deep-dives on why we love these books. (Seriously, nobody give me permission to do that because there will be spoilers, and I won’t shut up because we love Janet Evanovich in this house.)

The thing Lake and I love most about listening to the Stephanie Plum books together on Audible is that we always know they’re going to be a damn good time. We’re always going to compete to see who can figure out what’s actually going on first, and we’re always going to laugh together.

Takedown Twenty definitely didn’t disappoint in the laughter department. Lula’s obsession with Kevin had us both rolling in the floor laughing. (If you know, you know.)

All in all, the fact that we’re more than 20 books into this series counting the between the numbers holiday books featuring Diesel should tell you everything you need to know about Janet Evanovich and the Stephanie Plum series.

We loved Takedown Twenty, we laughed so hard we couldn’t see straight, and we dove straight into the next book in the series, Top Secret Twenty-One.

Also, we absolutely LOVE Lorelei King’s narration. She does such a spectacular job of really bringing the different characters to life in a way that feels real and organic. She’s absolutely freaking wonderful and I could listen to her all day long. This book is stellar, a genuine ten out of ten, highly recommend.
